Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands received a new update earlier this week that introduced the much-awaited Ghost War mode for the competitive community. It is your basic player-versus-player (PvP) multiplayer action and is now available for free to all players.
For those who are yet to experience the improved state of the tactical shooter, Wildlands will be going free this coming weekend on all platforms. The opportunity will not only allow you to try out the new gameplay mode but also several other features that arrived for the game in prior updates.
“In addition to having full access to the base game’s content, new players will get the chance to experience Ghost War, the new free PvP update for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” Ubisoft announced.
The developer also made it clear that it wants to promote its new competitive mode through the free weekend. Ghost War pits two teams of four players against each other in a team deathmatch experience that builds on the tactical squad play from the main game.
“Strategy is equally as important as skill. Using one of the 12 distinct classes, each with their own varied characteristics, weapons, perks and customization options, players will engage with enemies across eight unique maps,” Ubisoft reiterated.
Those interested can start pre-loading right now by creating and logging into their Uplay accounts. Take note that Wildlands will feature an attractive discount for the duration of the free weekend. All of its editions will be slashed by half. Any progress made during the free-to-play sessions will be transferred over to the full game if the player decides to make a purchase.
