Recently, it was reported that the Switch has hit the 5m sales mark, a major milestone for Nintendo if proven true.
The hybrid console was seen as a major risk, with a lot of negative industry analyst feedback following its reveal in 2017.
However, Nintendo has proven most wrong and now looks to be capitalising on their success.
It’s now being reported that the production of Nintendo Switch units has been boosted to 2m a month.
This could mean the company hits 20m units sold by the end of the financial year, a huge boost for games development going forward.
If Nintendo does manage to get close to that number, it will bring more third-party support to the console.
What won’t be changing will be the new rewards announced by Nintendo for the My Nintendo Program on 3DS and Wii U.
The rewards scheme allows console owners to grab some serious discounts, with October proving no different.
Both The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D and open-world JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles are available for 40% less.
Wii U games fans, meanwhile, can look forward to beefing up their virtual console library with titles such as Sin & Punishment, Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, Golden Sun and its followup, Golden Sun: The Lost Age.
My Nintendo users can also grab the original Splatoon at a 20% discount.
My Nintendo is a Nintendo Account service that connects your Nintendo experiences across multiple touchpoints, from gaming systems to computers and smartphones.
While things are winding down for the Wii U console as Nintendo move their attentions to the Switch, players are still getting up to mischief.
The most recent would be a fresh mod for beloved Wii U game, Super Smash Bros.
Having recently seen new images released for upcoming Switch title, Super Mario Odyssey, one in particular stuck out to fans.
That would be the one featuring Mario running around a beach wearing just his swimming shorts and hat.
This sparked some much-needed debate around the character, as well as new stream of memes on the subject.
But some fans have taken it one step further by actually building a new mod for the occasion.
The new skin mod mimicking the Super Mario Odyssey trailer is now available unofficially for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U.
