Yesterday, Mitt Romney won the Guam and Northern Mariana Island Caucuses by securing all 18 delegates. The republican presidential candidate noted the importance of winning caucuses in a region well outside of US boundries. Mostly, the Republican voters in US Territories are US Military Personnel.
On talking about this, Mr. Romney said in a statement that The people of Guam have always stood bravely for America and he is honored to have won the Guam Caucuses, an important milestone in his quest to restore America to the principles and practices that made them great.
Rick Santorum, the former Pennysylvania Senator remained on 2nd place with 6% of the votes in Northern Mariana Island Caucuses. Santorum was trailed by Newt Gingrich, the former House Speaker and Ron Paul, who both earned 3% of the votes in the Island caucuses.
Mitt Romney was sent by the former Massachusetts governor, his father to the islands to give a campaign speech leading up to the caucuses yesterday. Mr. Romney said in reaction to his father’s victory, “I’m obviously thrilled that it’s a unanimous decision.”
He said at the event that now the voters of the Northern Mariana Islands nearly 8,000 miles from Washington, D.C. have spoken. And what they’ve said today is that they want to bring change to their beautiful islands by bringing change to our nation’s capital as
the win gives Mr. Romney 9 more delegates to add to his total.
Now, both the winners Mr. Romney and Mr. Santorum will focus on Tuesday as Mr. Gingrich is hoping to revive his campaign in Alabama and Mississippi.
Wish Good Luck to all of you…….!!!
